For Natalie, Wherever I May Find Her

There once was a lady named Natalie

Who needed some sleep so baddily

Pills wouldn’t do, shots wouldn’t too

So an angel from Kentucky came through

This angel discovered a great secret

To sleep without pills or shots

And now I pass on what the ages have taught me

A rubber mallet will knock you out, but the headache when you wake up is your own problem.  The answer to that one is still on the drawing board.

My pome leaves a lot to be desired, but it’s raining again today, and since Will (Shakespeare, of course) passed so many years ago, I don’t write that much poetry or fine prose now.  We collaborated for so many years (satire, remember that) but this is for a special lady hoping to make her smile.

    1. Well, I did say I would give you a smile a day. Almost broke my funny bone on this one though. Just wasn’t workin’ exactly the way it started out — the train of thought left the station before I got to the depot!

  1. I just managed to trash your reply as well as my reply to you! And I have even more untapped talent no one knows about yet. It’s just plain scary when ya think about it. That’s why I try not to think much — just act on instinct and the mom3nt!

    1. So happy to hear from you, Sue. After my own hiatus due to the pinched nerve and several months of physical therapy it was disheartening to find so many of my friends had disappeared for health reasons! I know how old I am, but know the rest of you are much younger — at least in my mind, so getting back to find out we are all ailing is a shocking situation!
Have a wonderful rest of the weekend, hopefully filled with sunshine 🌞like we almost have here!

Hugs and love back atcha! 😇💖💝💜💚💙
